Another stormy and humid take-off for the thirty-two teams launching out of PB#2 for the Missouri Angler Wednesday Night Tournament, but once the front passed through the temperature dropped fifteen degrees and made fishing torable. Many of the teams were having problems catching a solid five fish limit, however, as in most tournaments there are those anglers that can figure out the right bait and location to catch a decent limit, which was the case last night.
The bite has definetly slowed down in the last couple of weeks, especially for the bigger fish. It seems the bass are spread out and not as bunched up as they usally are this time of the year mainly because of the continuous generation. Bass are being caught anywhere from 5 to 25 feet on jigs and plastic baits.
There were only four bass over 5 pounds weighed, however, there was one "toad" that tipped the scales at 6.50 pounds for big bass of the tournament.
1st Terry Blankenship & Ron Clement 5 Bass 17.10 lbs.
2nd Jeff Beauchamp & "Pug Bledsoe 5 Bass 16.15 lbs.
3rd Donnie Snelling Dave Wolf 5 Bass 15.00 lbs.
4th Nicky Winn & Ed Snelling 5 Bass 14.25 lbs.
Scott and Cody Stonitsch came in 5th place (tied with 4th place) with 14.25, one place out of the money and was presented with a $30.00 gift certificate from Tom's Slaughter and Meat Processing, located on A Road in Linn Creek.
Big Bass of the tournament weighed 6.50 pounds and was caught by the team of Donnie Snelling and Dave Wolf.
